Regulations written in Code of
Conduct
Australia created immigration categories
and programs which had a major influence on Australian life,
not least in its population growth. In 1945 the country(s)
population stood at just over seven million, with 90 per cent
born in Australia. Since then, over six
million people have come from over 200 countries to settle in
Australia.
Australia continues to welcome
new settlers and their families and provides a wide range of
services to help them become established, including
interpreter services, counselling and English-language
classes. The great majority of newcomers settle in rapidly and
successfully.
Languages of important regional trading
partners, such as Japanese and Indonesian are being taught in
many schools alongside traditional European
languages.
Business migrants benefit from Australia
deregulated economy, and the nation(s) plentiful natural
resources and strong tourism, education, agriculture and
technology sectors.Australian tax system funds good
infrastructure, education and health services, and is
competitive with any other Western economy.
The
Australian lifestyle is the envy of the world and this vast
and beautiful country offers excellent rewards to those
willing to set goals and put in the effort to achieve
them.
Some of our larger cities are receiving benefits
from migration, while other parts of the country including
smaller capital cities and regional centres are missing out
and are enthusiastic to embrace higher levels of skilled
migrants. Regional migration plays a pivotal role in
contributing to the economic, demographic and social
development of Australia, as well as providing migrants with
unique lifestyle opportunities.
From 1 September 2007,
changes have been implemented to the General Skilled Migration
Program. Immigration SA is pleased to continue to participate
in various visa programs to assist suitably qualified skilled
migrants who wish to settle in our State, to obtain their visa
from the Commonwealth Department of Immigration and
Citizenship via the provision of
Sponsorships.
